Quotes: “Reading the commendations for each officer celebrated here – which includes preventing an attempted escape and apprehending an escaped inmate – is humbling. These three men and the 25 other officers deserve our respect and gratitude.” - Kamloops-South Thompson MLA Kevin Krueger “These three men fully deserve this recognition – combined, they have over 60 years in experience and service, and have each accomplished a tremendous amount in their careers.” - Kamloops-North Thompson MLA Terry Lake Quick Facts: • The standards for these awards are established by the Chancellery of Canadian Orders and Decorations for medal recipients. • The first Canadian medal to recognize long and outstanding service in the public safety professions was the Police Exemplary Service Medal, created on Aug. 12, 1982.
